; What we think ;
As optimistic upstarts, we started exploring SexTech in 2010. We wanted to help folks with erectile
dysfunction and lubrication issues. Turned out we were a little too optimistic and had trouble finding the foundational analysis we needed. So we took to the trade shows. Floating across the show floors,
we would see oceans of interchangeable dildos and masturbation sleeves with little to no innovation or differentiation. It was clear that the trade experts expected these cookie-cutter products to satisfy folks’ nuanced and individual preferences.
Everyday, friends and influencers are recommending erotic products and everyday
these recs are falling short. The thing is: when you buy a new computer and it doesn’t work for you,
you return it. No shame. No pain. It’s the computer that’s wrong. However, when you buy a new sex toy
and it doesn’t work, you keep it. It sits in the drawer collecting dust. Perhaps you feel like you wasted your money.
Or worse: you feel like your body is broken.
We want to help you make these decisions without shame and to identify your real needs.
But even more than that – we want to help this industry grow and innovate so that more of
your unique needs are met.
Whether you’re an experienced sex toy purchaser or someone considering your first product,
finding the right product for your specific needs can be intimidating. We are sifting through sex products, services, and resources to help you make sense of your personal pleasure journey.
: What we do :
We review products, interview innovative designers and sensual artists, and survey real people worldwide.
We take this knowledge and write articles, case studies, and reports so you can easily understand the complexities we unearth. We also consult any rookies looking to get in the game.
: How we do it ;
We rely on thoughtfully collected sexual information to represent the people.
We’re building a network of consent based data collection tools, dissemination strategies, and
research methods.
Currently, we rely on surveys, interviews, academic papers, and online / offline sex shop scanning.
We go to trade shows. We talk to other industry experts. We do our best to stay up-to-date on
what’s happening .
Our writers then transform the info you gift us into real insights – evidence that we then show brands
to spark product innovation.
